Look at these adorable and very stylish little boys. Kind of makes me want one of my own. A lot, and I mean A LOT of other things have to happen first. For more pics of cute kiddos visit my Pinterest.
Discovery / Governors Island

Considering how easy it is to get to Governors Island (and fun fact: it’s technically part of the borough of Manhattan), it’s kind of pathetic I am just now discovering it. The main reason for the excursion last weekend was to visit the Cooper-Hewitt exhibition, Graphic Design-Now in Production. It explores everything from design-centric magazines, newspapers, books, and posters to identity guidelines for a graphic designer himself (by far the most hilarious and creative piece I saw). It closes September 3 so go now if you can!
Pedal to the Metal
How adorable is this Loeffler Randall video? I love that the bikes are front in center in the campaign. Of course, the purses are absolutely beautiful as well! This reminded me of an amazing photo of my dad from the 60s and I just had to share it. His hat, striped shirt, and mismatched socks are just too much. He was a stylin’ guy even at age 10. I don’t look nearly as cool next to him...
Avocado, Corn, Tomato Salad / Adventures in Cooking 2

I had no idea what I was going to make when I got home from work last night, but I was tired and needed something quick and easy. After searching my cabinets I realized I had an almost too ripe avocado. It needed to be used asap. I have made a corn, avocado, tomato salad before, but my roommate suggested adding curry powder this time (did I mention my roommate is a chef?). Total game-changer. It added so much flavor to the dish!
INGREDIENTS:
2 ears of corn
1 ripe avocado
2 tomatoes
Olive oil
Curry powder
Garlic
Red pepper flakes
Salt
Pepper
Directions: Slice the tomatoes and avocado, put in a large bowl and set aside. Next, cut the kernels off the cob and sauté in a pan with olive oil, a clove of garlic, curry powder, salt and pepper. Combine with tomatoes and avocado, then add one more clove of garlic, olive oil, a dash of curry powder, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper to your liking. And you are done. This dish literally takes less than 10 minutes to prepare! The perfect weeknight meal when it has been a long day.
The Mac Dad Will Make You, Jump, Jump
Yes, they’re awkward to go to the bathroom in, but I love a good jumpsuit. These onesies totally fit the bill! And they’re on sale at theoutnet.com. What’s not to love?
On My Wish List
I definitely plan on pre-ordering this bad boy. I don’t know why the release of the “Edible Selby” in October was not on my radar sooner, but I am ecstatic to say the least. His photos are not your typical depiction of people’s personal interiors. They are eclectic and cluttered, yet the chaos is seemingly organized. This new book will feature over 40 of the food industry’s most creative types. Ranging from a behind-the-scenes look at the acclaimed restaurant, Noma, in Copenhagen to a pizza maker in Tokyo, each shot is done in the typical Selby fashion. All this talk of Todd Selby has me wondering what the inside of his home looks like! And I am hungry…

Totes McGotes

I have never understood the girls who take clutches or small purses to work. Where are all your things?! I, however, am in the market for a new tote bag for the many things I schlep to work. This includes, but is not limited to: at least 2 Tupperware containers with my lunch, a notebook and pocket calendar, whatever book I am reading, umbrella, at least one magazine, glasses (sun and reading) and of course phone/wallet/keys. So yes, I need a large tote. I absolutely love Anthropologie’s selection. I am currently coveting the framed needlepoint tote in particular!
